Autunno DAnza

The 21st edition of the contemporary dance festival Autunno Danza chooses as its focus the protagonists of Italian authorial dance, presenting the most recent fruits of their artistic maturation. Avoiding a programme constrained within the ranks of a single conceptual theme, or the proposal of a unitary aesthetic formalisation, a flexible approach has been adopted, favouring dialogue with the other forms of contemporary arts: from the disrupted and looped rhythms of experimental music to the multidimensional paintings of which video becomes an instrument, from the hic et nunc of performance installation to the vastness of readings and folds of the literary text. The mixing of different vocabularies does not, however, imply the renunciation of the specific interest in the language of contemporary dance in its meaning of research of and on movement, but on the contrary accentuates the attention on the body’s capacity to be a ductile instrument of unmediated communication, impertinent information and lively expression.
