Autunno Danza 2020
XXVI Edition 2 October - 15 November 2020
Archive
The 26th edition of the Autunno Danza festival will take place in the last months of 2020, the year of the pandemic. So much – far too much – has been said, to the point that it is difficult not to repeat overused expressions and unbearable slogans. Will all go well? Not for sure. Will we be better? Hard to believe. Will nothing be the same as before? It could be worse.
Excessive and convoluted information, discordant certainties, perceptions of reality lacking the parameters of verification and sharing, have generated feelings of vulnerability and physical and social precariousness, along with the anxiety to recompose cracked fragments of lives, now removed from the comfort of habit. It seems inevitable to confront bewilderment. Is there a truth? Where? Is it possible to search for it? To find it? Believe in it?
Can the complexity of impressions be fixed in a static True/False opposition? Is it possible to continue to think and act through unambiguous categorisations, binary distinctions, sharp separations between levels of reality?
The festival’s programming, modified and rewritten, revolves around doubts, the rejection of apodictic assertions, playing with unusual aesthetics, intersecting multiple perceptions with the extreme concreteness of bodies in motion, lights that create images, sound vibrations that alter inner beats. He eschews economicist convictions and distrusts dehumanising utility. It navigates lightly on the multiplicity of planes of being, relying on the divergent visions of artists aware of the indissoluble continuum of the human with the posthuman, capable of inventing a future and interweaving attention to natural integrity with the original textures of different cultures.
Will imaginative power and creative action be useful in provoking transformations and revolutions that can no longer be derogated?Posthuman subjectivity thus expresses a partial form of embodied and integrated responsibility, based on a strong sense of collectivity, articulated through relationship and community Rosi Braidotti, The posthuman, Life beyond the individual, beyond the species, beyond death.
