Appunti per il sole
Daniele Albanese
Appunti per il sole is the new show of movement, created by Daniele Albanese, for Fuorimargine – Centre for dance and performing arts production in Sardegna.
The artistic project, featuring the dancers Fabio Pronestì and Diego Spiga and the musician Simon Balestrazzi, takes its cue from the sun, symbol of strength and energy, but also the eternal return of the identical, silent and sum of time, embedded in the cyclicity. Irreducible.
Immersed in an ever-renewed ricursiveness, the bodies sketch shapes that do not find concreteness, movements that draw the transition between movement and energy, in an exponential progression of levels of intensity, repetition, accumulation and variations. Between darkness and rays of light, the dance is composed with a delicate script, maintaining a register that is suspended, elusive.
The sound tapestry stems from the application of the concept of solar vibration/pulsation to acoustic matter, in a dynamic of continuous growth and expansion, capable of maintaining a strong relationship with the bodies of the dancers, borrowing and amplifying their rhythms and counter – tempos.
The musical structure is therefore vertiginous, consisting of cycles of speed and intensity in continuous progressive growth, with intervals of moments of sudden suspension. Progressively, each rhythm section opens up to new bodily imagery, with a groove that takes its cue from techno territories but stays away from established forms. The massive, enveloping sound lays out an electronic and synthetic soundscape, rigorous but with permeable boundaries and punctuated by strident and random elements, where a different way of experiencing percussive spaces is sought.
Appunti per il sole places itself on a sensorial level, trying to bring back to a primordial degree the relationship between the observer and the performer, opening up a simple re-definition of what dance is.
It is not a matter of not wanting to read forms declinated in the present, it is certainly not a matter of cheap optimism it is a matter of images, in order to arrange our pessimism.
