The construction of VIBRANT BODIES – FLOWING MATTER, a project by choreographer Simona Bertozzi with music by Simon Balestrazzi, continues.
Life ceaselessly searches for its body. And it delivers us to the turbulence of the links and interweavings that unfold between the multiple configurations of matter, in the earth’s dynamic processes, in the making of the world. The image of a corporeity that gains strength and expressive power through vibratory affects and activities is positioned as the radiating core of the work. VIBRANT BODIES-FlOWING MATTER, like a small transient tribe, aggregates and disperses modelling intrinsic capacities of compromising stability and generating a sense of deterritorialisation that pervades the bodies and consigns them to an ever-birthing state. Impregnated with creaturely emergencies, the choreography unfolds as a field of intensities, tensions and filaments that prefer lines, spirals, folds and interstices to regular frames. The cartography of an unstable world, in which the centrality of the body is distorted by the material flow of anatomical and environmental events. Rebirth in the marginality of space or prosthesis in its vertiginous centre. In the continuous attempt to rise from a quadrupedal gait or drawing vaults of improbable birds. Who knows whether they will be roots, legs or wings, stretched between form and decay. The condition of accomplished verticality expands into an inclination.
A median position that is an act of vulnerability but also of transformation. Of ever, possible, new life. Among the iconographies of reference, VB-FM finds imaginative and postural suggestion in Paul Klee’s Angels, median figures par excellence, given to the eternity of becoming and transforming, to the inevitable absence of a decisive arrival (Roberta Rapelli, Gli angeli di Paul Klee).
